The Associated Artists of Pittsburgh is the largest group of visual artists in the Pittsburgh region. Our almost 500 members represent creative talent in all artistic media a term than continues to change rapidly in this information age. The purpose of the association, which was founded in 1910, is to foster a love of the fine arts and to advance art in the region. The group is governed by a volunteer board of directors, each of whom is either an artist or community member, elected for a term of three years. Officers serve for one year.

Commissioned as a gift to his city in 1893 by steel baron Henry Phipps, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is one of the nation's oldest and largest Victorian "glass houses." Silvered domes of glass enclose 13 garden rooms brimming with thousands of exotic plants and flowers. The 2.5 acres around Phipps continue the experience, filled with gardens, ponds and fountains.
